![]() ![]() While I'm waiting, my cholesterol continues to rise. But there's no way I can pay over $1000 per month for the medication. I don't qualify for low cost or free medication due to income level. My primary care physician that I'm just one of those that can't take statins. Insurance company wants me to try more statins which I'm terrified of trying more due to the memory issues. I've had no negative side affects of Repatha. My primary care physician had two months of samples while we worked through the appeal trying to get this. So she took me off that and tried to get me on Repatha. So my cardiologist changed to a different statin and lower dosage. Insurance denied it and said I needed to try more statins. My primary care doctor reduced the dosage, which didn't help and at my next visit, my cardiologist took me off the statin and tried to get me on Praluent. I would get to my location and take my foot off the break to get out of the car only to find, I had not put the car in park. From that point on, I checked multiple times because I couldn't remember if I had turned the car off and locked it. Came back out almost two hours later only to find my car running and unlocked. Within a few weeks, I began to notice mild memory loss that got worse and worse and worse until one day, I went to Cardiac Rehab, parked, got out and could have sworn I locked my car. Yet nothing I do can get my cholesterol down.Īfter the heart attack, I was put on statins. I eat a heart health/diabetes healthy diet. I got everything from both sides of my family. My family history of high blood pressure, heart disease (dad's first heart attack at 42), diabetes, high cholesterol both mother and father. Back in Nov 2018, I had a mild heart attack. ![]()
